In China, the thermal imaging wearables picked up momentum as an ideal means to detect COVID-19 symptoms. The same is poised to witness quick deployment across the US. In this regard, AI start-up, Rokid, a China based company is in advanced talks, to promote, commercialize and sell its T1 glasses across American markets. In the words of Liang Guan, the US Director of Rokid, Rokid is one of the first few China based technological behemoths aimed at creating disruptive technologies to deal with the global pandemic of COVID-19 that has put the global economy at a jeopardy. The T1 thermal glasses operate on the science of infrared sensor detection to detect temperatures of bulk patients, precisely a total of over 200 patients in a very short duration of approximately two minutes within a proximity of three meters. These T1 thermal glasses are equipped with infrared sensor detectors, powered by Qualcomm CPU, further enhanced with 12 megapixel camera, complete with AR feature enhancements that enable voice control and support recording and storage of videos and photos. Other high end features offered by Rokid T1 glasses include software solutions, IoT capabilities as well as data management solutions that are tagged as additional features and come as separate suite with the T1 glasses. Rokid is working in close association with various US based healthcare facilities, hospitals, municipal organizations and the like to critically eye lucrative business opportunities to market this high end thermal glass. The development marks maiden efforts for the company to emerge as successful market disruptors and promising new entrants across the American markets amidst staggering competition, lurking COVID-19 cases and associated complexities. Under presiding conditions, there is a silver lining in Rokid's efforts of market expansion across the Americas, as e-commerce veteran Wheel, based in California is lately contemplating business transactions with Rokid.
