TCL has officially announced their newest update are making global debut at MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2019 with its foldable mobile devices in addition to declaring its patented DragonHinge technology.
Employing the custom flexible AMOLED display designed by TCL’s sister company, and made up of mechanical housing which hosts the components, that allows the mobile devices to be used in folded postures. The company claims that its DragonHinge technology will improve the development of mobile devices with its newest displays which flaunt the foldable feature.
“With the support of CSOT (our sister company), we are declaring that TCL can be leader and innovator in the mobile market in the coming years,” Peter Lee, TCL’s Sales & Marketing GM stated. He also said that the TCL is not competing for being the top brand to launch foldable devices. Instead, the company is trying to introduce a better device with optimized software and refined hardware solution which can flawlessly adapt to all features in order to provide an elegant user interface.
“When we think about the practical application of foldable mobile devices and flexible display, there are three challenges which need to be overcome: a resistant mechanical housing, the software which can flawlessly adapt to new form factors, and the foldable AMOLED display itself,” stated Shane Lee, GM of TCL’s Global Product Center.
“By TCL’s integration with its sister company CSOT, we have overcome a number of challenges which come with foldable displays; now with the declaration of DragonHinge technology, we are able to show that how we will conquer the different challenges which must be solved to support such foldable form factors. We have a reliable hardware solution to build the unique software user experiences and we prepare to introduce our first flexible display device next year.” Shane Lee reported.
