Huawei has launched new smartphone which has a foldable screen, just like Samsung but it folds face out.
This is a hybrid devise that has handset and tablet like features.
The screen of Mate X by Huawei folds out on the outside of the device and it covers the backside of the phone when closed.
Size wise it is larger than Samsung, flat and thinner when closed. What it lacks is a second display on its rear side. An analyst mentioned that the crease in the screen was visible during the launch event, which was held in Barcelona.
At the launch event, attendees were able to have a feel of the device. However, security concerns over the 5G kit are still worrisome, mentioned the technology correspondent Rory Cellan-jone. He also mentioned that the firm is working and is confident that they would lead the market of smart phones.
- Let’s take a look at the comparison about both of the devices
- Huawei boosts a screen size of 8 inches when unfolded.
- The Mate X has a larger screen i.e. 6.8 inches and smaller one is 6.6 inches, and fold has a display size of 4.6 inches
- In a shut position, Mate X is 11mm i.e. 0.43 in thickness as opposed to 17mm i.e. 0.67 inches.
The mate x does not have any camera on same side of its screen like fold. Instead, it is placed on the flipside of the device that also has the fingerprint sensor.
One disadvantage of mate X is that it might be a little tiresome to click selfies when unfolded.
Mate X is expected to come with its 5G modems and would be able to download and upload data a greater speed if the available connection has high speed.
Similar to Samsung Fold, the Mate X also has a battery on both sides but is currently promoting it as a fast charging device.
