Google rolling out its new interface overhaul for Gmail on Android and iOS devices. Google has stated that this move is being started to create its G-Suite apps “look and act like a family of products”.
This update will be rolled out on mobile devices in the coming weeks. This is not the first renovation of Gmail in recent years as previous year Google received substantial UI changes to its Gmail platform that comprised some new features and new look to make it user-friendly.
According to the Venturebeat statement, as per new design, we notice that the red bar has been removed and in its place a giant search box is there. The user’s profile photo is now located on the main screen which was previously located in the navigation window.
Additional updates include the attachments such as documents or photos are now visible from the inbox without having to open every individual email. Likewise, switching multiple Gmail profiles is now become easier by just tapping on profile picture on the main screen. Furthermore, the report also confirms that user receives any mails or malware which are suspected of phishing then user will get an alert with big red warning sign.
Users who have been using Gmail, and some other Google platforms, since previous 8 months on the web will already be aware of its renewed look and feel. Actually, Google has already announced Material-focused updates on the web to Drive, Calendar, and Sheets/Docs/Sites/ Slides, while the Google has updated the Calendar for Android mobiles with a novel Material Theme.
Currently, Google is concentrating on the mobile versions with other services too. And in the future, Google said that it plans to change the rest of its G-Suite android mobile apps with a comparable redesign.
